What makes the Calendula Flower so special?

Healing Calendula Flowers used in skin care products

Did you know that the majority of products in our skin care line {beauty and baby} contain an infusion of calendula flowers?  Why, do you ask?

Well... calendula is in the family of the marigold.  But when it is infused or incorporated into products, it promotes skin healing.  It has been used for wound healing and has born antibacterial and antimicrobial properties.

More from LiveStrong.com: “Calendula shows some potential for fighting cancer. A study published in the 2006 issue of BMC Cancer found that an extract of calendula killed cancerous melanoma cells and stimulated lymphocytes, the white blood cells of the immune system. Another 2006 study, published in the Journal of Natural Products, found that two triterpene glycosides in calendula flowers had a toxic effect against colon cancer, leukemia and melanoma.”

It also has anti-inflammatory properties, too! Amazing! From LiveStrong.com: “A study in the 2009 issue of the Indian Journal of Experimental Biology found that calendula works by inhibiting the signaling molecules and enzymes that trigger the body’s inflammatory response.”  So go ahead and use our awesome Calendula Skin Sticks on those bug bites - for you, or even your pet, to aid in itch relief.

This is why we have incorporated it into so many of our top selling products, such as our calendula salves and skin sticks, liquid soaps, lip balms, bee herbal skin cream, calendula silk lotion, body oils, and more!
